This is a live recording of the world premiere performance of "Upon this handful of earth" (music by Norwegian composer Gisle Kverndokk and libretto by Aksel-Otto Bull & Kverndokk). This aria written for tenor John Tiranno occurs in Part 3, Scene 5. The opera was co-commissioned by the New York Opera Society and Sacred Music in a Sacred Space, the concert series housed at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in New York City.
